Dan Butcher of Mobile Marketer magazine wrote an article today about Alicia Keys’ appearance on American Idol last Wednesday, May 13th. Ms. Keys is a co-founder and global ambassador of Keep a Child Alive, a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare and housing to children with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Keys was accompanied by Noah, a fifteen year old rapper who is HIV positive and a patient at Keep a Child Alive’s Kigali clinic in Rwanda. After a performance by Noah, Keys asked fans to donate $5 to the organization by texting ALIVE to 90999. Her call to action raised over $450,000 from more than 90,000 mobile donors. Keep a Child Alive’s mobile donation campaign is powered by mGive.
